Dr. John & Lower 911
Malcolm John Rabennack Jr was born on November 21, 1940, in New Orleans. Today he is the most significant living musician in the New Orleans scene. He started his career as a session musician in the 1950s.

Janiva Magness
Chosen as the best female contemporary artist by the Blues Foundation this year, Janiva Magness carries a typically rough background for a blues musician. His parents committed suicide when Janiva was 16, and she became an alcoholic before her 20th birthday. She was saved from a total destruction by the blues, giving her a profession and a way to purifify herself.

Little Freddie King
Born in McComb, Mississippi, in 1940, Fread E. Martin learned how to play guitar from his father. He moved to New Orleans in the beginning of 1950s and got to know Poka Dot Slim and Boogie Bill Webb, among other South-Louisianan blues dudes, sucking plenty of influences into his own music. He gigged and jammed ofen in the New Orleans' joints and made it to the same stage with Bo Diddley and John Lee Hooker.
